Good Day Ladies and Gents. Pray everyone is having a blessed day. As promised I wish to continue the dialogue about putting together a killer ensemble for your next event. In my case it will be for the South Texas Alpha Derby.
As stated in the previous blog, I hav chosen to do a linen suit. Why? It's very hot here in south Texas and I want to be comfortable. Now linen comes in various ways, You can have very thin linen like a crepe or thick linen that closely resembles a burlap cotton. After the thickness of the fabric one should look at the patterns, plain, hatch, or seersucker for example.
Once that is decided then you can move on to picking out the color of the shirt and tie. For this example I chose a blue linen suit and white shirt. This will give it a more classic feel especially once paired with the bow tie below.
Now because a vest is being worn the braces or suspenders will not be worn, also a different pocket square was chosen. Because the shirt has a french cuff, the cufflinks shown below were used.
The following will be the jewelry pieces for me a simple bracelet on the right wrist and my watch, possibly apple on the left.

Now to add a sock and shoe combination and we are done minus the brim. I chose to do a Buck type shoe as it is truly comfortable and again adds to the classic and clean look I was going for. Socks are argyle keeping with the blue and white tones.
A blue straw fedora to top off the ensemble.
This was a basic color scheme and not too many patterns and hues were used. Now the schemes can be as elaborate as you desire or just this simple using blues and whites, The key is to put together a combination that you feel confident in and own it!
Have a fun and enjoy the lifestyle! It is a luxurious one!
Post Script: This was for example purposes only. I will not be wearing his outfit for the derby. Just used images from some of my favorite clothiers and put them together to show how to combine them.
